GAC Accelerates Global Growth with Strong May Performance and Strengthens Strategic Expansion in Australia

2026-06-09

GAC sustained its robust global expansion in May, delivering strong overseas sales and reinforcing its presence in key strategic markets, including Australia. The company exported 28,386 vehicles during the month, representing a 140% year-on-year increase. From January to May, cumulative exports reached 98,861 units, up 135% year-on-year, underscoring continued global demand and the effectiveness of GAC’s “One GAC 2.0” strategy.

In the Asia-Pacific region, GAC recorded a 123% year-on-year increase in May sales, with Australia standing out as a key growth market. The brand continues to deepen its localized engagement while strengthening consumer awareness.

GAC marked a significant milestone on May 27 with a strategic partnership with Sydney FC, one of Australia’s premier football clubs. This collaboration reflects GAC’s long-term commitment to the market, leveraging sports to build meaningful connections with local communities. During the partnership signing ceremony, Sydney FC players experienced models including the AION V, AION UT, and EMZOOM, offering positive feedback on their intelligent features, comfort, and performance.

GAC also took a significant step forward in New Zealand with the successful launch of the AION UT in May. With the theme “MOVE FREELY, LIVE FULLY,” the event signaled a new chapter for pure electric mobility in the country while reinforcing GAC’s broader expansion across Oceania. At the event, GAC outlined its “In New Zealand, For New Zealand” strategy, focused on bringing premium models to market, strengthening sales and service networks, and establishing high-standard customer experiences to build long-term brand trust.

GAC’s product portfolio remains a core driver of its success in the Australian market. The AION UT, introduced earlier this year, offers a compelling all-electric solution tailored to modern lifestyles, featuring a spacious cabin with a 2750mm wheelbase, comprehensive safety systems equipped with Level 2 ADAS, and a WLTP range of up to 430 km, fast-charging capability, and proven battery safety technology. Complementing this, the AION V and EMZOOM provide a diverse mix of electric and conventional options to meet varying customer needs.

With strong product competitiveness, localized strategies, and growing brand engagement, GAC continues to advance toward its global ambitions, positioning Australia as a key pillar for sustainable long-term growth.
