at least 15 children injured after car crashes into group of people in berlin

More than a dozen young children have been injured after a BMW rammed through a group of people on a busy Berlin street.

Around 1.10 pm on Seestraße,near the corner of Dohnagestell,the car drove into a crowd,leaving at least 15 children in a group injured.

A caregiver for the children,thought to be between seven and eight years old,is reportedly seriously injured.

The driver appeared uninjured as he was questioned by police. Photos show him leaning against his car and being questioned by police. The blue sportscar’s front left headlight is damaged.

The driver was provisionally arrested,police spokesman Florian Nath said.

He is suspected of being under the influence of ‘intoxicating substances.’

Bild reported the collision is not believed to have been intentional.

Police,ambulances and other authorities were seen crowded around the accident in photos.

Rubble from a nearby building also appeared to be on the ground,but the situation is still developing.
