Revealed: Mason Greenwood could play first game in England for more than 30 MONTHS in August - and in his hometown of Bradford - in pre-season friendly for Marseille after £30m move

Mason Greenwood could be set to play his first game in England in more than two years this summer.

The 22-year-old striker joined Marseille from Manchester United on Thursday - 908 days after his most recent appearance for the Old Trafford club.

Greenwood represented United 129 times,scoring 35 goals.

His last game for the Red Devils came in January 2022,shortly before he was arrested on charges including assault and attempted rape, all of which were all later dropped.

Greenwood did not play at all during the 2022-23 campaign but he then spent the following season on loan at Getafe.

But he could feature when Marseille play Sunderland at Bradford's Valley Parade on August 3

Marseille completed the signing of Greenwood despite vocal opposition from a significant section of the club's fanbase.

The city's mayor Benoit Payan also publicly opposed the move.
