Wellington College International Day celebrations

2021-05-07

On Wednesday, Wellington International School Hangzhou had the pleasure of hosting its first ever International day for preschool education. What an experience. The day commenced with the calling of drums by Year 5 and Year 6 pupils followed by a variety of workshops led by the Wellington staff. Year 1 to Year 4 pupils discovered various countries, such as Nigeria, Argentina and Canada while the Senior students focused on communication and intercultural skills, for instance finding out about greeting rituals in different countries and understanding the notion of the iceberg of culture, to name but a few.

Each class enjoyed showcasing the country they have been assigned. It was impressive to see the pupil engagement in this new event and how much they have learnt and opened their mind to new cultures.

Parents have also made a huge contribution to the success of this event by preparing delicious foods from each country countries represented by the children. We would like to thank them for making the Global Village such a success. What a fabulous day!
