In Qingdao - Watch China’s Top Sporting Event

2021 CBA All Star Weekend will be held in Qingdao Guoxin Stadium from March 20 to 21. In Qingdao, enjoy China’s high-profile sports event: CBA.

It is reported that Qingdao “Diamond” Stadium, which will host this All Star Weekend, has a seating capacity of about 12,500 and about 6000 spectators will be admitted at that time, enabling the game to allow the largest number of fans to gather since the second round of last years CBA League.

As part of the 25th anniversary, this All Star Weekend will include special sections to pay tribute to celebrities, it said. For example, in the Rookie Game on the evening of the 20th, the players who scored the 25th point in the two teams will respectively conduct the “Mingsu Shooting PK Game” with their respective teams’ “Mingsu Super Group”, to presents fans with a time-traveling shooting match as well as passing on the torch of All Star Weekend.

As the reserved events of the All Star Weekend, the Skills Challenge, the Three-Point Shootout and the Slam Dunk Contest have always been favored by fans. In individual events of this All-Star Weekend, the players involved in the Three-Point Shootout are: Chen Linjian (Fujian Sturgeons), Zhao Jiwei and Cong Mingchen (Liaoning Leopards), Du Runwang and Hu Mingxuan (Guangdong Southern Tigers), Dai Huaibo (Jilin Jiutai Rural Commercial Bank), Zhang Fan (Beijing Royal Fighters), Zhu Songwei (Sichuan Blue Whales).

Defending champion Chen Peidong will lead 12 players to the All Star Wenkend Skills Challenge. In last year’s Skills Challenge, Chen Peidong finally beat Wang Junjie to win the champion. In this year, Chen Peidong will accept the challenges from Tang Jie who are at the first on the cervix speed list, the popular rookie Lin Tingjian, and teammate Wang Wenyu. At the same time, it is worth anticipating whether any player will break the challenge record of 12 years of 22.93 seconds.

In the Slam Dunk Contest, Zhang Zhenlin (Liaoning Leopards), Tang Jie (Fujian Sturgeons), Zheng Qilong (Jiangsu Dragons), Zhang Yang (Qingdao Missfresh), Lu Pengyu (Shenzhen Leopards) will compete with Chen Dengxing, the grass-roots player holding the wild card.

The South-North Dual Meet as the final drama of CBA All Star Weekend is more fascinating. In the starting lineup of this years South and North teams, both of them have four players from the same team, which never happened in the history. The eight players on the starting line-up happen to belong to the two teams of Liaoning and Guangdong, the opponents of last years finals, which are also top contenders for this years CBA championship.

The North team has lost three times since the 2018 All-Star Weekend. Whether it can end the winning streak of the South team this time is undoubtedly the ultimate suspense of this All Star Weekend.
